union jack dresser

a while back I said I wanted to put this

on something. I did,


and after this

I had to post this.


I started with this bad boy



and ended up with this



If you wanna know how, keep reading.


1. spray paint the whole thing gold



2. tape off your union jack. using a measuring tape helps. find the center and fill center stripe with tape. then tape around that, and peel the middle away.



3. then paint it all white



4. done and done

ps. i got the not on purpose but so cool chipped gold on gold look because I did 2 coats of 2 different gold spray paints, and then put the tape on before it was completely dry. whoops.




this makes me smile every time i walk by





I think some lucite pulls will look amazing on this piece, but alas, i do not have lucite pulls lying around the house.
