the best-client-ever's mantle

The best client ever let me re-do her mantle today with some fun things I found for her at Home Goods/TJ Maxx.
Let it be known... she is the best client ever because:
1. she lets me move all her stuff around
2. she lets me paint her walls crazy blue colors
3. she allows me to push the limits of her comfort zone (the blue wall thing...)
4. and she's not even mad about it

Anyway, this is what I found for her:

double yum

Ok, ready?

Not all the way done done, but almost there!

Stay tuned to see how it turns out.

union jack

I am going to try to paint one of these:
union jack
on this:
hope chest

this is one of those times where I say "wish me luck...."

I switched up my mantle today.

It was looking dark and dingy and EMPTY.

The whole thing really bugged me.

This was the 5th time I made my husband move the rectangular mirror.
"THIS IS THE LAST TIME" - my husband.
He is the best and would move it again if I asked, but for his sake this mirror will be here a while.

baby rooms

Here's a peak inside my notebook...

Two baby room designs I did recently for a couple:
They already had the crib picked out, as well as the Phillies lamp, so I played off that.
And they have a boxer, which explains the pillow.

Same crib, but this room is a little lighter. I'm obsessed with the blue wall squares.

Here are the prices below. I tried to keep the prices under $2000.

way cool

Danielle from Danielle Oakey Interiors was nice enough to feature me in her Thrifty Tuesday post about my campaign dresser.

I am totally flattered.

Thank you!

new target lamps

Roaming around Target today, I found some fun stuff.
First, I found these.
Then These.
Then somma these.
That's what she said.

When I got home, the lamps inspired me to make this look better:
This is so embarrassing.
My only defense is that Lane hope chest which I got for $52 this fall at the Bryn Mawr Thrift Store, will eventually be glossy black.
I have no defense for the chair, other than my husband loves it and it's comfortable.
So much better! Glad I could put those club chairs to use.
Even though the furniture isn't the way I want it, for now, this is a world of a difference in our family room.
It's so cozy I don't want to leave!

Home Goods Sundays

I love going to Home Goods on a Sunday afternoon. It's like therapy. This particular therapy session cost around $42.

dog bed
something for puppy

something for meeeee. Yep, still on my red kick.

oven mitt
some color for our ALL blue and wood kitchen which is driving me nuts, especially in the dark of winter. More on that another time.

We needed a little summin' summin'.

pink chevron trash can dreams

We have a creepy tash can in our bathroom.
You have to pee with a devil eyed cow staring at you.
creepy trash can
Ew, not fun.

cow eyes
Also, it doesn't match our bathroom at alllllllll....
marry me
My husband let me have a pink bathroom. "Happy wife, happy life."
I painted the walls Marry Me by Benjamin Moore at the suggestion of a friend.
I have my stepmom's old shower pink lattice curtains from  Schweitzer Linen, and I added hot pink towels from Ikea.

It's heaven.

I want to throw my trash in something I adore. It needs to look like this:
When I discovered chevron a while back, I fell in love...
...and then I discovered PINK chevron.

I want to swim in pink chevron.

This is my project for this weekend...

my mom's electrical problem

she wanted help to make this
look better.

First of all, this looks like a homemade bomb. I am telling the TSA!

But I found these which might help:
This lady at Organize Your Stuff Now used them for her desk which looked like this:
After using the Command Strips on the back of the desk
it looked like this:
