dressing room

I would love to have a dressing room that looked like this.

1. because it would be nice to have all those clothes to fill an entire room, and 2. that would mean I could dedicate an entire room to dressing, which would also be nice.

however, this is realistically how things would work out for that ottoman.

Style is a luxury, and luxury is simply what makes you happy.
Over the years, design expert Deborah Needleman has seen all kinds of rooms, with all kinds of furnishings. Her conclusion: It’s not hard to create a relaxed, stylish, and comfortable home. Just a few well-considered items can completely change the feel of your space, and The Perfectly Imperfect Home reveals them all.

Ranging from classics such as “A Really Good Sofa” and “Pretty Table Settings” to unusual surprises like “A Bit of Quirk” and “Cozifications,” the essential elements of style are treated in witty and wonderfully useful little essays. You’ll learn what to look for, whether you are at a flea market or a fancy boutique—or just mining what you already own.

Lilly Pulitzer Ocean TV Cabinet

First of all, I am obsessed with you, Lilly Pulitzer Ocean TV Cabinet, but I cannot afford you, and even if I could I wouldn't buy you. Cause I'm cheap. So Imma make you.

That being said... the idea at first was pretty far-fetched considering this is what I started with..

You're Horribleness...

no back

and in general: gross.

Also, the biggest hurdle was the doors. I wanted to copy the LP cabinet's doors but how??

SAWS. Awful. I hate sawing I think it's scary and I am bad at it. I'm bad at even holding whatever someone else is cutting it because I think they're going to saw my fingers off. So this part of the project was awful.

Now sand. These are the best for sanding. They are spongy and get in all the crevices.

Primed, still backless.

When you get sick of painting you can make earrings.

WELL HEY THERE RAZZLE DAZZLE BY BENJAMIN MOORE.

Also, the back was really easy to do. I took the measurements of the back of the cabinet to home depot, and after picking out a $7 piece of particle board they just cut it for your on their fancy machine.

Drum roll please..

This is what we were replacing (which is now our fab dry bar)

The finished product

Welcome to our wild pink, fish catchin', leopard ruggin', safari land living room.
